Have you ever wondered where G&G leftovers go? We’re proud to say that we work with the non-profit organization Second Helpings Atlanta to get our leftover food to a good home!
Second Helpings Atlanta (SHA) has been helping feed hungry mouths around Atlanta since 2004! It all began as a social action project, but formally evolved into a non-profit organization in 2013. The folks at SHA volunteer to drive around town and pick up extra unneeded food from restaurants, grocery stores, schools & other companies like G&G so that they can help redistribute it to those who need it most.
G&G has donated hundred pounds of food to SHA in the past year! We appreciate that SHA helps us avoid wasting extra food by getting it to the agencies that provide meals for the hungry everyday. Janet from SHA is usually the volunteer who comes and picks up extra boxes & bags of food from us each week that we have leftovers!
If you’d like to help out, SHA has its first annual Taste of the Trucks event happening this weekend! Join us for a day of delicious food, music and an arts & crafts festival that will not disappoint. The festival is happening from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday, November 12th at the Concourse Office Park. All proceed will benefit SHA & help them get more food to Atlanta's hungry. Get more details about the event here.
