ASW Distillery's Earl of Bourbon Cocktail Recipe


ASW's Distillery's Whiskey Exchange just opened last weekend at the Lee & White development in the West End, right next to Monday Night Garage & HopCity’s Boxcar. In honor of the Grand Opening, our friends at ASW are letting us share the recipe for their Earl of Bourbon with you! It's the perfect batch cocktail to make for crowds!

You’ll need:

1 cup ASW Distillery's Fiddler Bourbon

3 lemons

1/2 cup honey

1/3 cup minced ginger

1 tablespoon thyme

2 sprigs rosemary

3 earl grey tea bags

food processor

fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth




  1. In a small pot, bring 1 cup water to a boil for the tea
  2. In a food processor, combine ginger with 1/3 cup cold  water then strain with a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth, pressing through strainer to get most of the water out of the ginger, discarding ginger & reserving ginger water
  3. Break thyme sprigs into a few large pieces
  4. Place tea bags in a mug with thyme sprigs
  5. Pour boiling water over tea & thyme & let steep for 5 min



  1. In the same pot used to boil water, combine honey with ginger water over medium heat & whisk until honey is   dissolved in the water, then remove from heat & transfer to the fridge to let cool
  2. Remove tea bags from mug & transfer tea to the fridge to let cool
  3. Cut rosemary sprigs in half
  4. Juice lemons
  5. Once tea is cooled, strain out any thyme



  1. To make enough for 4 drinks, in a small pitcher, combine all of thyme-earl grey tea with bourbon, ½ cup honey-ginger syrup, ½ cup lemon juice & stir vigorously with a spoon
  2. Pour over ice (rocks glasses recommended) & top with a sprig of rosemary
