Meet Chef Vivian of Foodcation Forever! We're now offering some of her prepared foods in our local market so that you have some easy go-to's for those crazy busy days.
What got you into the food world? Did you always want to be a chef?
I suppose I should’ve known from the start that I’d find my passion in food. My parents owned a burger shop when I was in middle school and they had to try really, really hard to get me to leave the kitchen. All I wanted to do was man the fryer or flip a burger or two, but they said it was too dangerous for me to be there.
How would you describe your cooking style?
I’d say my cooking style is globally inspired with a focus on Korean flavors.
Tell us about Foodcation Forever! What are your specialities?
Foodcation Forever came from my love of traveling to eat. I usually set my travel itineraries based on what meals I want to eat where and I thought I’d like to share flavors I’ve enjoyed along the way.
What’s your favorite dish to make?
I love making fried rice. You can pretty much use anything to make it, it’s fast, and simple. Throw a fried egg on it and it has everything you’ll ever want.
What’s the best meal you’ve ever eaten?
One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten has to be a meal of grilled clams in some tiny town in the middle of nowhere South Korea. It’s never about what but about with who and where.
What’s your number one piece of advice for at-home cooks?
Take one day a week to prep a whole bunch of veggies. That way they’re ready to go for a quick dinner during the week.
