A Few Reasons to Love Bibimbap

Korean cuisine is full of comfort food, and bibimbap might be the champion. How could you not find comfort in a steamy bowl of rice, a perfectly poached egg and little piles of colorful flavor scattered all around? It's even fun to say! Go ahead, you know you want to - bi-bim-bap.
Here's a few reasons we love it!
It's a Rice Bowl
The inate awesome-ness is right there in the name.
Bibim = mixed
Bap = rice
So if you're anyting like me, a dish called mixed right perks you right up!
It's an Art Project
Constructing a bowl of bibimbap is like putting together a beautiful puzzle. Each ingredients gets it's own special place in the bowl, with it's own flavor profile so it can shine.
It Has Endless Possibilities
This one-bowl wonder has endless possibilites. Each small pile is a different flavor and texture, so you can construct the perfect bite, with no two bites being the same.
It has an Incredible Sauce
I'm a sucker for a good sauce, and when gochujang is involved, you know it's going to be good. If you look closely, you'll see this thick, deep red chilli paste on menus all over town. Just a little of this Korean staple adds a world of flavor to a dish.
It's Fun to Eat!
Even though you'll want to, you don't just mindless dive into a bowl of bibimbap. It's much more of an experience. Some choose to construct each bite strategically, while others go for the mix-and-eat approach. Etiher way, make sure the first thing you do is break that perfectly poached egg on top to get that warm, golden yolk dispersed through the dish. Your next step is up to you!
