Apple-Thyme Sangria

Autumn is just around the corner (can you believe it?), and we've got the sangria recipe that will help you bridge the gap from hot summer days to chilly fall evenings. This recipe features fresh apples, pears & lemons, plus sprigs of fresh thyme—one of our favorite herbs. Hope you enjoy! 

10 min active, 4 hrs total, serves 4—6

 

INGREDIENTS:

 

  • apples
  • 2 pears
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup fresh thyme, plus 4—6 sprigs for garnish 
  • 1 (750-ml) bottle Pinot Grigio 
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1 cup unflavored sparkling water

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

 

  • Slice apples and pears into 1/4”-thick slices
  • Slice lemon into 1/4”-thick rounds
  • Add apples, pears, lemons & thyme (whole sprigs) to a large pitcher
  • Pour wine & vodka over the fruit and mix well, then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4—8 hours
  • When ready to serve, remove thyme from pitcher
  • Top off sangria with sparkling water and stir to combine 
  • Serve sangria on ice in wine glasses and garnish each glass with a fresh sprig of thyme
