Chef Christopher Grossman of THE CHASTAIN Cooks Up A Wave of Good!

At Garnish & Gather, we believe great food starts with great ingredients and that some of the best meals begin with the people who grow, source, and care for them. That’s why we’re so excited to partner with Chef Christopher Grossman, Executive Chef at THE CHASTAIN, for our latest Be the Chef meal kit. (Does anyone remember when we worked with Chef Grossman on our 2017 Steak & Chimichurri meal kit?!)

Meet THE CHASTAIN's Chef Christopher Grossman

Chef Grossman is a longtime champion of thoughtful, ingredient-driven cooking. Before opening THE CHASTAIN in 2020, he honed his craft at some of the country's most respected kitchens, including The French Laundry and Atlanta's own Atlas Restaurant in Buckhead. Today, he is the founder and Executive Chef at THE CHASTAIN, an Atlanta restaurant celebrated for its committment to seasonality, local sourcing, and a deep respect for the land. That philosophy has earned THE CHASTAIN a Michelin Green Star!
For Chef Grossman, "great food does not start in the kitchen; it starts with the soil and the seeds that are sown." This resonates deeply with us at Garnish & Gather. We prioritize partnering with chefs who are helping shape Georgia's vibrant culinary community, especially with chefs who recognize that a thriving food culture depends on a thriving food system.

Be the Chef: THE CHASTAIN at Home

Chef Grossman’s featured recipe is THE CHASTAIN'S Pan-Seared Salmon with zucchini and dill purée & crème fraîche fingerling potatoes—an elegant, seasonal dish that showcases the kind of fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation that define his cooking.

Blue Circle Salmon filets are pan-seared to perfection and served over a bright, herbaceous zucchini purée. Alongside, buttery fingerling potatoes are tossed with crème fraîche, dill, chives, and lemon zest. Squash ribbons finish the dish with a beautiful burst of late-summer flavor. The meal kit is available to our from our menu through September 24th.

And, to further elevate your meal, Chef Grossman recommends topping the dish with Highland & Menlo Salmon Roe, available separately through our Groceries section. The rich, savory Alaskan salmon roe is hand-packed right here in Atlanta.

It's a restaurant-inspired meal you can cook at home, and it's an opportunity to support a bigger cause while you do it.

Every Meal Kit Makes a Difference

In partnership with Southern Chefs Potluck, 5% of sales from this Be the Chef meal kit will be donated to Wholesome Wave Georgia.

Wholesome Wave Georgia works to make fresh, healthy, locally grown produce more affordable and accessible to people throughout Georgia. The organization brings together farmers, neighbors, and community partners who share a vision for a more inclusive and nourishing food system: one where everyone has the opportunity to eat well and where farmers and communities can prosper together.

Supporting access to locally grown food means supporting the entire ecosystem that makes a vibrant local food community possible.

With every Be the Chef meal kit purchased, you can enjoy a great meal while supporting Wholesome Wave Georgia's work connecting Georgia families with fresh food from local farmers.

From Your Kitchen to the Southern Chefs Potluck

In addition to creating an exclusive meal kit for Garnish & Gather customers, Chef Grossman is also the 2026 Chef Host of Southern Chefs Potluck, an annual gathering that brings together some of the finest chefs and mixologists from across the South to raise money for Wholesome Wave Georgia.

This year’s event takes place on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 3:00-7:00 PM in Serenbe.
Tickets available here

Guests will enjoy an afternoon filled with incredible food, hand-crafted drinks, a live auction, and great company, all set against the beautiful backdrop of the Serenbe Pavilion.

Most importantly, all proceeds support Wholesome Wave Georgia’s mission to connect Georgia families in need with healthy food from local farmers.

We’re proud to partner with Chef Christopher Grossman and THE CHASTAIN, and to join Southern Chefs Potluck in supporting Wholesome Wave Georgia.
