Meet Garlic Clove Foods

What started as a simple change in the way Amy D'Angelo fed her family turned into Garlic Clove Foods. Her second child had mild foods sensitivities that lead her to really look at the foods her family was eating. Simply put, they were not satisfied with the options available to them so Garlic Clove Foods was born.

In 2009 when they started the company, eating healthy was starting gain ground. When thinking of naming their company, the D'Angelos wanted it to tie back to something healthy & delicious. Since garlic is a favorite in their home, they started there.

When it comes to recipe testing, Amy has fun with it. Because she doesn't have formal culinary training, she relies on the skills she has developed over a lifetime of cooking. When she gets an idea for a recipe, she immerses herself in her kitchen for a game of trial and error.  A big part of Garlic Clove Food's recipe development involves enlisting experts - the moms! Amy often calls her mom for inspiration, who Amy says is a genius in the kitchen. She also has learned a lot from her mother-in-law, who has shared her Turkish cooking style with Amy. Turkish recipes are a favorite in the D'Angelo household.

We love Garlic Clove Food's commitment to healthy, whole ingredients. They use whole grains, vegetables, legumes, herbs & spices. Amy knows it's as much about what you don't add as what you do add, so they never add salt, sugar or preservatives to their products. As a local business, Amy loves being able to serve her neighbors and donate to local food banks.

Garnish & Gather and Garlic Clove Foods are both part of the Peachtree Road Farmers Market family. The D'Angelos love Peachtree Road Farmers Market because for so many Atlantans, its a destination.  She loves speaking with customers and helping them put healthy food on the table quickly (something else we share in common!) Amy says "I also am thankful for the opportunity to be around other food entrepreneurs - we all support each other and that camaraderie on a weekly basis is priceless!"

Fun Fact: If Amy could be a vegetable, Amy says she'd be an onion - a little sweet but very versatile.
