Welcome to our newest pick-up location, Alō Farms! We are so excited to partner with this amazing farm and can't wait for you to learn more about them.
How long has Alō Farms been in operation?
Alō Farms has been in commercial operation for nearly 9 years.
Where is your farm located and what makes it unique?
Our farm is located at 629 Hwy 74S in Peachtree City Georgia. What truly makes us unique is our self-serve honor system market. Since we have been in production we extended trust to the community with our honor system self checkout. We do have a staff member present during core hours of operations to share about products, welcome & assist customers, and share the history of our farm. Additionally, from our market you can look through the market windows and see all of our beautiful produce growing. Its way more of an experience than just a trip to go shopping.
What does a typical day on the farm look like?
Our farm works by creating a living and natural ecosystem indoors. Simply put we manage the ecology of the fish, beneficial microbes, and horticulture operations to create a biodynamic living ecosystem. We have a team that manages our aquaculture operation and a horticulture team that cultivates all the lettuce, microgreens, herbs, and kale we grow.
What is your favorite dish to make with the produce from Alō Farms?
My personal favorite dish is chopping up some of our romaine lettuce -and adding in a little microgreens to make the perfect Caesar salad. My second favorite dish is pan seared mediterranean tacos. Our fish are so clean and great tasting all they need is a little butter and salt, but I love to add our fresh cilantro and make tacos.
Do you have any special events coming up?
Yes, we have our Alō Thanksgiving farm dinner coming up on the 24th. https://alofarmsfoundation.harnessgiving.org/events/2339 We will have a whole lineup of community events & wellness masterclasses held by the Alō Farms Foundation this next year.
What does eating local mean to you?
Eating local means knowing the food and the farmer that grew it.
