Meet Atlanta's First Kombucha Tea Company

Atlanta's first kombucha tea company has arrived! With a history spanning over 2,000 years, kombucha tea is regarded as the "Elixir of Life". Kombucha is a fermented drink with billions of probiotic living organisms that aid in digestion and immune support. Many people who enjoy kombucha tea on a regular basis feel energized, euphoric and healthy from the inside out. And best of all, it tastes great!

Golda kombucha uses local ingredients to make their fantastic teas. You'll love the taste of fresh Georgia peaches in their Peach-Ginger Kombucha and sweet local strawberries in their strawberry-mint kombucha!

Golda Kombucha tells us there is evidence that Genghis Khan and his men drank kombucha in the 12th century for vitality and strength. From Asia it traveled the Silk Road to Japan, Korea and finally Russia, where definite record keeping dates to the late 19th century.

The main even in making kombuchua is a culture called SCOBY (Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeast). After steeping tea in boiling water and allowing it to cool, a SCOBY is added to the room temperature tea. This mixture then ferments in a warm room for 1-2 weeks.

Analysis of the contents of kombucha confirms that it is rich in probiotics, antioxidants, glucuronic acid, trace minerals, B vitamins, and more. It is a living enzyme-rich drink. Kombucha is excellent for your digestion and immune system. It also has amino-acids and potential cancer preventatives.

The name and the recipe comes from a vivacious 93 year-old named Golda. A living testament to wellness, Golda has been brewing and drinking her own kombucha for more than 20 years at her home in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Now her family recipe, unchanged through the generations, has been passed down to her granddaughter: the brewmaster behind Golda Kombucha.
