Meet Piedmont BBQ!
Thursday, March 16, 2023
We're always fans of a quick dinner trick, and Piedmont BBQ certainly fits the bill! Owner Brad Coolidge, a North Carolina native, grew up with a love for BBQ and lucky for us, Brad brought that love with him to Atlanta in 2011. By 2015 he'd launched Piedmont BBQ and was selling out at pop ups and catering events around town. Piedmont BBQ offers smoked meats, stews, chilis, sauces–the list goes on! You can find their pulled pork, barbacoa, and pulled chicken in our meal kits as well as in our local market. We asked Brad a few questions about Piedmont BBQ and how he got started–keep reading below to learn more!
Tell us about Piedmont BBQ Co!
We produce frozen, vacuum sealed, ready to eat BBQ and prepared foods. We purchase our meat from local sources including HERO farms, Evans Meats and Springer Mountain Farms. Our flagship product is Lexington, NC style pulled pork and we also offer pulled chicken, barbacoa (beef), Brunswick Stew, and many other heat & eat foods and BBQ sauces.
How and when did Piedmont BBQ get started?
We got started originally in 2015 doing pop-ups but then Piedmont got put on ice for a couple years when kids came into the picture. The current iteration was rebooted in 2020 and we pivoted into frozen to survive the pandemic. It was the best thing that ever happened to us and we have grown exponentially since!
Where can we find your products around Atlanta?
Many independent grocery stores all over metro Atlanta, we ship nationwide via our website with subscriptions available, and at several farmers markets around town; Brookhaven, Dunwoody and Woodstock.
What’s your favorite thing about being part of the Georgia food community?
The people in this community are amazing!! I'm truly blessed to collaborate with all the owners and employees of this community.
What’s one of your easy go-to’s for making dinner with one of y’all’s pulled meats?
Barbacoa tacos with salsa verde or Carolina style pulled pork sandwiches. Both are super quick and easy with our products.
When you aren’t cooking, what’s one of your go-to spots to hang out in Atlanta?
My wife, Nicole, and I have 3 kids (4th on the way) so our lives revolve around them. We can usually be found on the Beltline in Glenwood Park area wrangling our kids on various wheeled things; bikes, strollers, scooters, etc. or at a nearby park letting the kids blow off some steam.
Look for Piedmont BBQ meats in G&G meal kits each week, and stock up on some in our local market!
