Meet We Three Girls!
Tuesday, August 30, 2022
The granola that We Three Girls makes is cooked up with three generations of love! Audrey, Liz, and Eva are the grandmother-mother-daughter team behind this Atlanta-made granola. They started out testing recipes in 2018 when they saw a need for snacks and small bites that were simple and healthy without a lot of ingredients and fillers, and it's history from there! You can now find them at farmer's markets across Atlanta and in the G&G local market. We asked them a few questions about how they got started and what they offer, and they even shared a delicious recipe with us for homemade granola bites!
We hear We Three Girls is a family business! How and when did y'all get started?
We Three Girls is a family business started by Liz, her daughter Eva, and her mom, Audrey. We produce fun to eat, wholesome granola that brings joy. We’ve outgrown our home kitchen but not our mission to create the best tasting granola anywhere. We are a small group of women spanning ages 20–87!
What’s it like to run a business as a family?
The best thing about working together is getting to spend more time together. Sharing the fun and excitement with each other, supporting each other’s strengths, and creating something together that others enjoy are the perks that we enjoy.
A perk of having 3 generations of women working together is that we can integrate our different perspectives in our decision making. We want our products to appeal to all ages and with our founders’ ages spanning 3 generations, we’re in a great position to accomplish this.
Can you tell us about the different granola flavors that you offer?
Our flavors run the gamut from traditional - Maple Walnut, Coconut Almond, Chocolate Chunk to unusual - Coffee Crunch, Cocoa Lavender, Ginger and Turmeric. Our newest flavor we are excited about is Chocolate Cherry Matcha. Always vegan. Sweetened with either maple syrup or dates and a hint of raw sugar, our granolas are perfect in yogurt bowls, smoothies, and right out of the bag. We've also recently added 2 varieties of muesli - Original Pecan and Superseed Ginger and Pineapple.
Do you have any go-to recipes that you like to make with your granola?
Try this 5-ingredient recipe the next time you're craving a sweet snack: Chocolate Granola Bites! (You can watch We Three Girls make it here on Instagram.)
You'll need:
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 2 Tbsp coconut oil
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup granola (tip: our Maple Walnut works the best!)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Mix peanut butter, coconut oil, maple syrup & granola together in a bowl
- Spoon into 6 round bites and set on a baking sheet layered with a sheet of wax paper, then freeze until firm
- Once bites are firm melt chocolate in the microwave, stirring every 30 sec, until you can stir to melt the last few chocolate chips
- Dip your bites in the melted chocolate, re-freeze to firm up, and enjoy!
