Smoked Salmon Canapés

You don't need a special occasion for an excuse to snack on these elegant, savory appetizers! Toast slices of everything bagels (we recommend TGM's) for crisp miniature platters to spread with a tangy schmear of crème fraîche, cream cheese & dill. Top with smoked salmon & thin slices of cucumber, then finish with a scattering of capers. This is the perfect recipe for your next brunch get-together!

 Serves 4–6

 

INGREDIENTS:

 

  • everything bagels
  • 1 1/2 oz butter
  • 1 Tbsp dill
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup crème fraîche
  • 1 cup cucumber
  • 4 oz smoked salmon
  • 1 Tbsp capers
  • salt 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

 

1. MAKE BAGEL TOASTS

  • Preheat oven to 425°F
  • Thinly slice bagel into round cross sections to resemble bagel chips (unlike how you normally slice a bagel)
  • Melt butter in the microwave or on the stovetop
  • On a sheet pan, brush bagel toasts with melted butter
  • Transfer to the oven and bake 5–8 min, until toasted

 

2. PREP TOPPINGS

  • Chop dill
  • Mix to combine cream cheese, crème fraîche, dill & salt to taste
  • Peel cucumber and thinly slice

 

3. GARNISH & GATHER

  • Assemble toasts by topping with schmear, a thin slice of cucumber, a piece of smoked salmon & a sprinkle of capers
