Spooky Halloween Punch
Monday, October 17, 2022
It's the spookiest time of the year... and that means it's time for Halloween-themed snacks, desserts, and drinks galore! Try this punch recipe–you'll make an easy cinnamon simple syrup to add to the punch, and you might just want to keep more of that on hand to add to fall coffees and cocktails.
Serves 4–6. Top your glass off with vodka and stir to combine if you'd like something a little boozy!
YOU'LL NEED:
For the cinnamon simple syrup:
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 4 cinnamon sticks
For the punch:
- (3) 12 oz cans Montane plain sparkling water
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- 1 orange
- 1 apple
- 2–3 cups ice
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. MAKE CINNAMON SIMPLE SYRUP
- Add water & cinnamon sticks to a small pot and bring to a boil
- Let simmer for 15–20 min, then remove cinnamon sticks
- Add sugar to pot and bring back to a simmer, stirring consistently until the sugar dissolves, then remove from heat and let cool
- Store any extra cinnamon simple syrup in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to a month
2. MAKE PUNCH
- Pour Montane sparkling water, pomegranate juice & 1/3 cup cinnamon simple syrup into a punch bowl and stir to combine
- Taste and add more cinnamon simple syrup until you have the sweetness you prefer
- Slice orange & apple into thin rounds
- Use a small sharp knife (or an xacto knife if you have one) to cut apple slices into jack-o-lantern shapes, as shown in the image above
3. GARNISH & GATHER
- Add ice to punch bowl, then add orange & apple slices for garnish–if you have extra cinnamon sticks, you can add those too
- Use a ladle to spoon punch into glasses, and enjoy! (Stir an ounce of vodka into each glass for adult-only Halloween drinks, if you'd like.)
