Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with this Guinness Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 1 lb lamb
  • 1/2 large onlon, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • G&G Lamb Spice (1 t coriander, 1 t white pepper, 1 t dried orange zest)
  • 1 Tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1/2 cup carrot, diced
  • 1/2 cup potato, diced
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 2/3 cup Guinness Beer
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 lb puff pastry

Directions

  1. Preheat ovento 350 degrees
  2. Heat oil in a large saute pan over medium heat
  3. Add lamb, onion, garlic & G&G Lamb Spice & cook 5-6 minutes
  4. Add carrots & potatoes & cook 3-4 minutes
  5. Add tomato paste & cook, stirring, 1-2 minutes
  6. Add flour & cook, stirring, for 2-3 min until well incorporated
  7. Slowly add water, beer, bouillon cube & thyme & cook over med-high for 4-5 min until sauce begins to thicken
  8. Add salt & pepper to tate
  9. Transfer filling to a baking dish
  10. Roll out puff pastry to about 1/4 inch thickness & drape oer bakind dish
  11. In a bowl, combine egg wiht 1 tsp water then brush dough with egg mixture
  12. Bake 25 minutes, until golden brown
  13. Enjoy with a cold Guinness!
