Chefs Corner: Cutting Matchsticks

Done correctly, cutting matchsticks from veggies like carrots is easy and quick. For demo purposes, we'll show you a carrot, but it can be done similarly with many other types of vegetables. 

 

1. If you have a long carrot, cut it in half so you have 2 smaller carrots. 

2. Cut the smaller carrot lengthwise so you have two long carrot pieces

 

3. Cut the carrot pieces in half again lengthwise so you have four long carrot pieces.

 

4. Pile the long carrot pieces on top of each other and slice them into four long carrot pieces.

 

5. Voila! You have matchsticks!
