Oven-Fried Pickles

These are sure to be a standout at your cookout, because who doesn't love fried pickles?! Our recipe simplifies them for you to make at home without the hassle of deep frying, and it's healthier this way! You can order Doux South's fresh Angry Cukes in our local market to really perfect this recipe.
15 min active; 30 min total; serves 2—4
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp onion powder
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp buttermilk
- 1/2 cup panko
- 1/4 cup parmesan
- 2 cups pickles
- 2 Tbsp fresh dill
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 Tbsp mayo
- 1/4 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp honey
- Salt & pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. PREHEAT OVEN & PREP BREADING
- Preheat oven to 425°F
- Grease a baking sheet and set aside
- In a shallow bowl, mix to combine flour, garlic powder & onion powder, then add salt & pepper to taste and mix again
- In a 2nd shallow bowl, lightly whisk egg with buttermilk
- In a 3rd shallow bowl, combine panko & parmesan
- Drain pickles, reserving 2 Tbsp pickling liquid, then lay pickles in between 2 sheets of paper towels and pat dry
2. BREAD PICKLES & MAKE DIP
- Working in an assembly line:
- Toss each pickle in flour mixture then shake off excess
- Dip pickle in egg mixture, letting excess drip away
- Press pickle into panko mixture to coat both sides evenly
- Lay pickle on prepared sheet pan
- Bake 15—17 minutes, until golden
- Chop dill
- In a small bowl, whisk together reserved pickling liquid, sour cream, mayo, minced garlic, honey & dill, then season with salt & pepper to taste
3. PLATE & ENJOY!
- Enjoy oven-fried pickles accompanied with creamy garlic-dill dip
