Radish Raita Recipe

 

So what exactly is raita, you ask? Raita is a traditional Indian condiment that mixes fresh or cooked vegetables with yogurt & spices. Our radish raita recipe includes fresh radishes, onion & cilantro. It can be used as a dip, a side, a topping, or, notably, as a cooling agent for your palate. Especially helpful for those (rare, of course) times that you just can’t handle the heat!

 

 

Ingredients:

1/2 C radish

1/2 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp fennel

2 Tbsp chopped cilantro

1/2 C plain yogurt

juice of half a lime

zest of a whole lime

1 Tbsp minced red onion

salt & pepper, to taste

 

 

1. Shred radish on the large holes of a grater

 

 

2. In a pot, toast cumin & fennel over med-low for 1-2 min, until fragrant, then remove from heat

  
 
3. In a small bowl, mix toasted spices, radish, yogurt, lime juice & zest, red onion, cilantro, salt & pepper
 
 
 

Use your raita as a dip for fresh veggies, a spread on wraps, or as a topping to spicy curry dishes!
