Southern Peach Crumble Recipe

 

Peaches are the quintessential start-to-summer treat, and we can’t get enough of them! It’s always a good time roaming around for the ripest, most delicious peaches at the farmers market so that you bring them home and get to work on your favorite recipe.

Take a stab at one of our favorite peach recipes this week: the southern peach crumble.

  

You’ll need:

peaches (you can get 'em in our local market!)

2 Tbsp sugar

1 Tbsp & 2 Tbsp flour

1/8 tsp & 1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup oats

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 Tbsp toffee pieces

1/4 cup chilled butter

2 Tbsp pecans

1/3 cup crème fraîche

1 tsp powdered sugar

1/4 tsp vanilla

small baking dish, a loaf pan, or (2) 8 oz ramekins

 

  

1. PREPARE FRUIT FILLING

• Preheat oven to 400º

• Grease a small baking dish, a loaf pan, or (2) 8 oz ramekins

• Slice peaches

• Stir together peaches, sugar, 1 T flour & 1/8 tsp salt

• Spoon into greased dish or ramekins

 

2. MAKE CRUMBLE & BAKE

• Cut butter into small pieces

• In a medium bowl, mix oats, brown sugar, toffee pieces, 2 T flour, 1/4 t salt, pecans & butter with a fork or fingertips until combined

• Sprinkle crumble topping evenly over fruit

• Bake 25-35 min, until filling is bubbling & topping is browned

 

3. MAKE TOPPING

• Whisk crème fraîche, powdered sugar & vanilla until mixed thoroughly

 

 

Enjoy crumble warm or at room temperature with a dollop of crème fraîche topping!
